Ceramic pan is free from several chemicals including PFOA, PTFE, and cadmium. As a material made of natural substances, there will be no toxic materials released. So, the ceramic pan is good for your meal and respiration organ during the cooking process.


Even though many people think that ceramic is better, it turns out, many complaints that noting this non-stick coating becomes sticky. Especially stone pan which tends to flake or peel. Sometimes, it is not because of the quality of the coating only. But your behavior can fasten the damage, like using a metal spatula or washing it with a rough brush.


Reaction Over Several Foods

Ceramic has a strongly good point in terms distribution of heat. This means it is truly ideal for slow cooking like custard or lasagne. However, it is a non-reactive material, so you don’t need to worry when cooking something with acid, vinegar, or maybe wine.


But unfortunately, it will make your food, especially sweet dessert items, become overly brownish. So the finishing appearance becomes less aesthetic.


Compare with the stone pan, it will be easier to maintain the hot because once hot, it remains hot. It will be very useful if you want to cook something at intense temperatures like searing meat. But, better for you to do pre-heat approximately 5 to 10 minutes before the real cooking.


For strongly acidic food, better for you to not using a stone pan because the characteristic of this material is reactive. If this is your ultimate purpose, choose ceramic will be wiser.

Either way, both ceramic and stone frying pan has its own strengths and weak point. So, better for you to know what your cooking purpose is since each food requires different cookware. If you want to make pies, gratins, casseroles, or other similar food, choose ceramic. It is oven safety too.


If you want to roast, bake, sear, or fry, choose a stone pan instead. Particularly, it resists from direct fire or grill cooking.
